Primer "gringo" que se contacta con nosotros: CHRISTOPHER CROKE
Hi Rodrigo,
I still haven't had a chance to look at the blog, but here are a few things about me that might be of interest:
I am a professor of mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania. My main area of research is differential geometry, but I have also done some work in robotics and optics. <https://www.math.upenn.edu/~ccroke/>
I have been the advisor to a number of Ph.D. students, including Pilar Herreros who is currently a faculty member at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
After finishing the 6th grade at San Gaspar I moved back to the USA. I lived in Virginia until I graduated from high school, went to Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh for undergraduate school, and then the University of Chicago for my Ph.D. in mathematics. For my postdoc I went to UC Berkeley where I met my wife Mary. Mary and I moved to Philadelphia in 1980 and I have been a faculty member at UPenn ever since. Mary and I have two children, Katharine and Thomas. As well as doing mathematics I love to play volleyball.
I hope you find this bare bones sketch appropriate for the blog.
Chris
