Estimado SANGASPARINO encontré en
la web este obituario del Padre Pablo, fallecido en el 2007. Espero te traiga
buenos recuerdos:
“On Sunday, September 16, 2007, Father
Paul (81), passed away after concelebrating Mass at the St. Charles Center
infirmary, Carthagena, Ohio. The cause of death was an aortic aneurysm, the presence
of which had been identified about a week before, after Fr.Paul had complained
of chest pains.
He was born July 24, 1926, in
Dayton, to Fred and Vera Meyer Schaaf. He entered into the Precious Blood
Society in 1950 and was ordained a Catholic priest May 28, 1960. He was an
assistant pastor in Virginia and later a missionary
and director of seminarians in Chile, where he served for 12 years. In
1975, he returned to the U.S., and presided over many healing services and
pilgrimages. He was one of the founding members of the Association of Christian
Therapists and served on its board of directors. He was appointed coordinator
of the charismatic program of the Diocese of St. Petersburg, Fla., and served
there several years before returning to St. Charles in 2002.
The circumstances of his death are
full symbolism. His heart, full of love for his friends, simply overflowed and
could not be contained. In speaking to people who talked to Fr. Paul the day
before his death, we learned that knowing his time was short, expressed concern
not so much for himself, but for those who would be left behind; those he would
miss, and those who would miss him. Paul’s love for his friends, which mirrored
that of Jesus for us, was also the theme of the Gospel reading at his funeral
Mass. John 15:11-17, “I call you friends…Love one another.” We have lost a dear
friend but we have gained an intercessor in the heavenly courts.
If you wish a holy card
commemorating Paul’s life. please send a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope to:

May he rest in peace in the
hearts of Jesus and Mary.”
